Dutch concert pianist Wibi Soerjadi was born on March 2, 1970 in Leiden. This internationally-renowned classical pianist spent four years honing his craft at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. Throughout a prestigious career, from his early beginnings joining music competitions to today, Wibi Soerjadi has been honoured with numerous awards and is now considered one of Europe’s best classical pianists. His early career saw Wibi Soerjadi winning prestigious competitions; Princess Christina Concours in 1985; and the National Eurovision Competition in 1988. In 1989, he placed third at the International Franz Liszt Piano competition, considered one of the hardest competitions worldwide. He has also been honored with the Elisabeth Evertsprijs prize, the Echo Klassik Award and the Edison Classical Music Award. Wibi Soerjadi has performed with several of the best orchestras in the world. His albums have also achieved gold and platinum success; a rare achievement in classical music.
