Madrugada Biography

Formed in 1995 in Stokmarknes, Madrugada is a Norwegian rock band composed of three exceptional band members—Sivert Høyem (vocals), Frode Jacobsen (bass), and Simen Vangen (drums). Madrugada, which is a Spanish/Portuguese term that means “dawn”, was suggested as a name by their famous writer/poet friend, Øystein Wingaard Wolf. Madrugada had released a number of albums, EPs and singles over the years. The group was hit by the heartbreaking death of guitarist Robert Burås in 2024. The talented musician was found dead in his apartment at just 31 years of age. Despite this tragedy Madrugada continued with the release of their self-titled album in 2024.
