Juanes Biography

The Colombian rock musician, Juanes, was actually given the name Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez when he was born in 1972. He began his musical career with the heavy metal band called “Ekhymosis.” However, in 1998, Juanes quit the band to venture into the world of pop music as a solo artist. Juanes has made a lot of head way in that direction, coming out with four very well received albums since. Juanes had formed the band on his own, and had worked with Latin pop stars like Alejandro Sanz and Ricky Martin. His albums have reached various levels of success in Colombia and Latin America with a lot of his songs reaching the Top Ten on the Billboard Latin America Charts. He is also widely recognized for his partnership with humanitarian groups.
