De Dijk is the popular Dutch rock band. They came together in the year 1981. De Dijk plays only Dutch vocals. Their current style is not pure rock but a mixture of various genres including blues, rock and roll and soul music. Van der Lubbe, who is also a founder member of the band De Dijk, is a known poet and writes most of the lyrics for the band. They released their first album by the name of “De Dijk” in 1982. Since then they have steadily released albums year after year and have gained the credit of being one of the most important Dutch acts in the past 25 years. Their latest release are both in 2024, titled "Zullen we dansen" and "We beginnen pas".
